Gordon Street Coffee
We’ve partnered with expert Scottish coffee roasters, Gordon St Coffee, to provide you with the freshest coffee throughout our hotel, we hope you enjoy their Edinburgh Roast! Visit their shop downstairs and grab a cup to go or pick up a bag of beans, which the team will grind for you to enjoy at home.
The team at Gordon St Coffee has complete control over the roasting process which ensures we have the best beans and use traditional methods to roast the freshest coffee for our customers.
From Kenya, to Guatemala, from Colombia to Brazil, we have a large number of single origin beans available in 250g or 1kg bags as well as our house blend and of course, the Edinburgh Roast.
Take a short hike! Calton Hill is a 15 minute walk from our hotel, now established as one of Edinburgh's main hills, set right in the city centre. It is unmistakable with its Athenian acropolis poking above the skyline.
The top of Calton hill is a usually quiet place to visit on any day, with its grassy slopes and panoramic views of the city, including down the length of Princes street and on to Edinburgh Castle. There is also a good view North of the ruddy-coloured cliffs of Salisbury Crags and Edinburgh's highest point, Arthur's Seat.
The UK's largest all seated theatre plays host to some of the biggest names in live music, comedy and musical theatre. Edinburgh playhouse is just a fifteen minute walk from Market Street hotel or five minutes by taxi, we're perfectly located for your next theatre break.

Six Nations Rugby 2020
BT Murrayfield is the home of Scottish rugby and plays host to some incredible international fixtures throughout the year. The Scotland vs England fixture returns to Edinburgh this February with Scotland in with a chance to retain the Calcutta Cup for a third year after their historic win in 2018 and the nail-biting draw at Twickenham in 2019. The Six Nations is the perfect time to visit Edinburgh, stay for a night or two and take-in the the electric atmosphere of this 'Auld' rivalry.

Just across the street from our hotel lobby is The Fruitmarket Gallery, playing host to exhibitions with the best Scottish and International artists, enriched with a wide variety of cultural and educational events. They are committed to making contemporary art accessible without under-estimating audiences or compromising art or the ideas it enacts instead seeking to create a welcoming space for people to think with art in ways that are meaningful to them – for free.
The Fruitmarket Gallery is currently undergoing an exciting refurbishment project and will re-open it's doors this summer.
